If you’re into natural healing and you haven’t hear about Goji Berries yet, you’ll want to learn more fast. Goji berries grow on evergreen shrubs in subtropical and temperate climates. They are grown in Tibet, China and Mongolia, and for thousands of years they have been used by herbalists to help heal certain health conditions and boost the immune system.
Goji berries are usually sold in their dried form, so they look a lot like red raisins. You can find Goji berries in a Chinese herb shop, or you can purchase and drink Goji Juice or Goji tea.
If you buy Goji berries, they will probably be dried. Dried Goji berries are shriveled and chewy like raisins. They are sweet, sour, and rather tangy and taste great with yogurt or on cereal, although you can eat them on their own for a very healthy snack.
Goji berries support health and promote healing because they are rich in antioxidants. They are a particularly good source of carotenoids including beta-carotene and zeaxanthin. Zeaxanthin in particular helps support good eyesight. Among other things, Goji berries may also help improve blood circulation and strengthen the heart, promote restful sleep, improve digestion and support liver health and function.
