Extra Pillows Can Help with Plastic Surgery Recovery

If you’re scheduled to have liposuction, a face-lift or any other type of plastic surgery, preparation for post-op recovery can make your life much easier. Your plastic surgeon may have gone through a generic list of do’s and don’ts, but that doesn’t always transcribe into the kind of preparation that can really help.

To ease your discomfort and pain after a tummy tuck or any other plastic surgery procedure, you will need to have several things on hand. That means set up near your bed, not just somewhere in the house. After surgery, you will need to relax, rest and sleep. If you aren’t prepared for post-op recovery, all of these will prove difficult.

One thing you will need to have on hand for post-op recovery is lots of extra pillows. If you’ve had rhinoplasty or any other procedure involving your face, you will need to keep your head elevated to reduce and control swelling. You will also need to sleep on your back with your head elevated for at least seven days.

All of this elevation will require at least three extra pillows. You will also want pillows for under you knees and behind your back to make bed rest more comfortable.
