Give Your Blog Readers Some Space

If you’re eager, but not quite ready to invest in professional blog design, you’ll have to get by doing it yourself for a little longer. Amateur blog design is no match for professional design, but it is better than nothing and there are ways to make the most of what you have. If you would like to enhance your blog’s design a bit yourself until the professionals take over, try taking a look at your use of space.
Is every corner of your blog covered with photos, text and whatever assorted bells and whistles you’ve managed to add in? Many design amateurs believe in the myth that empty space is a waste. In fact, empty space is a must if your readers are to keep their sanity, and if you are to keep your readers.
Space on blogs gives readers a break. It lets the eyes relax and focus on what is in between or framed by the space, which is usually text. All of the different content elements in your blog can benefit from padding. Padding is the term for the space that is left between objects on your blog. Give some extra attention to the padding between your text and photos, graphs or whatever other objects are featured on your blog.
