The Extraction Destination

Posted on April 8, 2008 - Filed Under Data Recovery |

Where do you extract the data to? This is a common question many people ask prior to procuring the services of a Data Recovery expert. Then again, there are those who are not interested at all where their Raid Recovery data or their Hard Drive Recovery data is imaged to. They are only interested I being able to read the lost data! So, for those who are curious about where the data is stored the answer is rather mundane: the recovered data can be placed on a CD Rom, an external hard drive or even a DVD disk. This way, the data can be reviewed or examined for further information at a later date. Of course, this data can then be transferred onto a new raid system or hard drive where it can be used in the exact same manner that it was utilized prior to the corruption of the data. For some, there is a misguided notion that the retrieved data will be placed on some esoteric source making the recovery process more complicated than it needs to be. Now, if the recovery process was more complicated than what was necessary less people would be all that interested in using it!
